The year is 2009: There's a college freshman that lives in the armpit of California sitting in his music theory class that has the fleeting thought, "I'm going to start a ska band". Fast forward two years after recruiting two friends, a guy from craigslist, and an acquaintance from that music theory class along with some of his friends, For The Record is born and plays it's first show.

Six years later and they're still at it. Opening for ska legends such as Less Than Jake, The Untouchables, and a show in May with Los Kung Fu Monkeys along with world-renowned acts like Hawthorne Heights, Smash Mouth, Alien Ant Farm, and Everclear just to name a few. They've played Skamic-Con and even won a Skacademy award for "Most Upstrokes"! 2018 is about to see their release of their newest EP "This is Fine" as well as their first tour!
