about

Ska influenced by jazz, blues, reggae, rock, punk, hardcore, funk and metal. We are a band that is made up of six young people from Mexicali, B.C. and El Centro, CA. We are individuals who have lived firsthand the reality of living near a border with United States/Mexico; our friendship and our music has roots from both sides. The guitarist, drummer, trombone, and saxophone are Mexican-American. The trumpet player and the bassist are Mexican citizens with the current inability to cross over because of a difference in nationality and current lack of papers; we have the assistance of other fellow musicians on bass and trumpet for shows outside of Mexico. We have experienced injustice, slander, and have witnessed the corruption that is handled in Mexico, in the United States, and throughout the border area in general; the suffering of families that can't see each other because they lack some papers, searching for a better future, the American dream, and all the raw truth behind what they promote in the media. Through creating something as beautiful as music, we decided to give awareness to this reality that surrounds us all near the border, all Mexico and the United States. We want people to know we have to start with ourselves, and raise your voice. We want people to get to know us, to enjoy our music, and for them to see that despite many difficulties nothing has stopped us to achieve unity and peace between the two cultures and nations. We represent the obtained dream and the forgotten dream, that music is the universal language, here, in Mexico, in the United States, and throughout the world.
