"The Eighthmonth" is a Chiptune/Indie band from Rockford, Illinois. The ongoing project of Eric August, The Eighthmonth combines a plethora of influences into usually fast, sometimes catchy songs that you can put on when you feel like it (or don't, do you). Rising from the ashes of a former project that rose from the ashes of another former project, The Eighthmonth is the answer to the question "What happens when all your friends are too busy to make music?" Officially forming in 2012, Eric decided to stop relying on the songs from those projects before and start fresh, but had long since left the circles where horn players were readily available. He turned to the style of music that really hits that 90s kid nostalgia feel (whether they'll admit it or not): Chiptune. Releasing a debut EP in 2015, The Eighthmonth is set to release a full length album in 2021 after years of doing other stuff that will probably end up as songs on said album.
