5-piece collective from the Antelope Valley city of Lancaster, CA, playing everywhere from dancehalls, to backyard parties, to taekwondo studios since the spring time of 2010. Originally starting as purely a ska punk band during their time together in the high school marching band, Captain Smooth Talk’s sound continues to grow (especially after 9 years of writing songs as a group), implementing styles of all kinds into their music - funk, rocksteady, cumbia, shoegaze, prog rock, etc. - all while staying influenced by the Los Angeles skacore scene. "101 Damnations" is a song that describes a quarrelsome relationship. Being so in love with somebody, yet knowing that the fighting and arguments have poisoned that love beyond purification. After these 101 Damnations have been shouted, the bond can no longer be repaired.
